October 2024 Update:
We have a confirmed litter due mid November 2024. You will find the puppy application link below. Please note that we can only accept puppy applications from Canadian residents. The new CDC import regulations prevent us from selling puppies under 6 months of age to US residents. We can place young adults and adults in the US.
Please do not contact us about a puppy or an application without first reading our guidelines.
We breed only when we are interested in keeping a puppy. This means we breed infrequently with only 1 or 2 planned litters a year and sometimes even less.
All puppies are sold on a non-breeding contract. They are not placed in homes until 10-12 weeks of age after having their hearts checked by a Board Certified Cardiologist. A fenced yard is required and all potential puppy buyers are expected to try and visit before a puppy is placed in a home.
Before contacting us, please make sure you have taken the time to fully research the Newfoundland breed. There are a number of very useful links on our website to help with your research. We are also available to help answer questions you may have regarding the breed.
Due to the very few litters we produce each year, we are no longer maintaining a formal waitlist. Instead, we will advise when we are accepting new puppy applications for future litters on our website. It should be noted that this does not mean there will be a puppy available in an upcoming litter. There may still be a wait for a puppy as we cannot predict puppy availability based on sex, conformation, or health. We encourage individuals interested in a puppy to follow both our website and Facebook page for updates. Our application/questionnaire is only available on our website when we are accepting new applications. We will not be providing this questionnaire when applications are not open. Below we have outlined the purchasing process.
Once we have received your completed application, we will arrange for a telephone interview. Please note that not all applications will be scheduled for a telephone interview. If we determine your application is not a good fit for one of our puppies we will not move onto the telephone screening step.
After completing the telephone interview those families that appear to be a good fit for a puppy will be encouraged to visit. This visit will be dependent upon age and health of puppies at the time and is at the full discretion of Sea Fever. Not everyone that is telephone screened will be asked to visit. We prefer to only have those that have submitted applications visit our home. This is to help ensure the safety and protection of both our property and dogs.
Puppies are not placed on a first come, first served basis. Each puppy has its own unique characteristics and personality and will be placed by Sea Fever based on best fit. We do not make any guarantees that we will have a puppy available from the current litter. Puppy placement decisions do not occur until the litter has been evaluated for show purposes and hearts have been screened by a cardiologist. We do take the preferences of our puppy buyers into consideration, but the final decision of which puppy is placed in your home is at the full discretion of Sea Fever.
